FAQ: MicroVib II To MicroBase Pro Connection Types

   
 

1. What Methods Can Be Used To Permit MicroBase Pro To MicroVib II Communication?

  • The 2145 USB I/O Cable is used to connect the MicroVib II directly to a USB Port of a Windows PC.
  • The 1311 Serial I/O Cable is used to connect the MicroVib II directly to an RS-232 Serial Port of a Windows PC.
  • The 1311 Serial I/O Cable + 1871 USB to RS232 Adapter, will directly connect the MicroVib II with a USB Port of a Windows PC.

 

2. I Have A 2145 I/O Cable. How Do I Configure It For Use?

3. I Have A 1311 Cable And A 1871 USB To RS232 Adapter. How Do I Configure It For Use?

If you have a 1311 Cable and an 1871 USB to RS232 Adapter, click here for information on installing the driver and configuring the cable for use with MicroBase Pro.


4. I Have A 1311 Cable And My Computer Does Not Have An RS232 Port. What Should I Do?

If you only have a 1311 Cable and your computer is not equipped with a native (built-in) RS-232 Serial Port, we recommend you do one of the following:

  • Obtain the 2145 USB I/O Cable to replace your 1311 I/O Cable.
  • Obtain the 1871 USB to RS232 Adapter to use with your 1311 I/O Cable.
  • Obtain a generic USB to RS232 Adapter for use with your 1311 I/O Cable. Click here for compatible adapters.
