Modern Computerized Design

The Personal MicroBalancer offers superior performance utilizing the latest technology in computerized digital signal processing. It is supplied in a package which is small enough to hold comfortably in one hand and will easily fit in the smallest cockpit.

Easy To Read LCD Display

The Personal MicroBalancer utilizes an easy to read, sixteen character LCD display to provide precise readings of Rotor or Prop Speed (RPM), Vibration (Inches per Second) and Phase Angle (Degrees).

Internal Battery Operation

Operating power is supplied by an internal nine volt alkaline battery or optional rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery eliminating the need for bulky power cables to obtain aircraft power.

Simple Installation

The compact Vibration Sensor (Accelerometer) is easy to install in any location where vibration measurement is desired using a simple mounting bracket.

The Photo-Tach sensor is simple to install, eliminates clumsy strobe lights and permits greater accuracy when making balance measurements.

Single Button Operation

The Personal MicroBalancer uses a single push button (mode) switch to allow the user access to each of the MicroBalancer's functions. Plug in the push to talk switch for "hands on controls" vibration measurement - even in single seat helicopters!

Precise RPM Measurement

With a single click of the mode switch, the user is presented with a precise readout of free running rotor or prop (tach) RPM for an instant tachometer check or for setting correct balance speed.

Exact Vibration And Phase

An additional click of the mode switch activates collection and precise display of free running Vibration (IN/S) and Phase Angle (Degrees) of either first order vibration (balance) or blade rate vibrations.

Vibration Averaging

One more click of the mode switch activates true averaging of both Vibration (IN/S) and Phase Angle (Degrees) to obtain the most accurate Vibration readings and permit the best balancing possible, even in gusty wind conditions.

Once the average data collection is complete, the display "freezes" showing the averaged Vibration and Phase Angle, freeing the operator's hands to land and/or shut down the aircraft in preparation for balance adjustment.

System Compatibility

The Personal MicroBalancer was expressly designed for compatibility with all balance procedures recommended for light aircraft. Virtually all existing balance charts are supported as well as any future applications.

Automatic Shutoff

There is no need to remember to shut off the Personal MicroBalancer when finished balancing.

When the task is complete and no more activity is detected by the unit, the processor will time-out and initiate an automatic shut down of all power consumption to save battery capacity. Time-out is one minute in the free running modes and five minutes in data averaging (freeze) mode.
